Resonancia Magnética
Es un examen diagnóstico no invasivo que emplea un campo magnético muy potente, pulsadas de radiofrecuencia y una computadora para crear imágenes de las estructuras internas del cuerpo.
¿Cómo se realiza?
Acostado en una camilla de exploración, el paciente ingresa en el túnel del resonador donde deberá permanecer inmóvil y escuchará el ruido de los pulsos del campo magnético. El procedimiento dura alrededor de 40 minutos y puede requerir la administración oral o intravenosa de un medio de contraste para optimizar la calidad de las imágenes obtenidas.
Cuidados después del procedimiento
Los dispositivos médicos implantados que contienen metales, como marcapasos o clips, pueden afectar la realización del estudio. Existe un leve riesgo de que se produzcan reacciones alérgicas al inyectar el medio de contraste, las cuales por lo general son benignas y de fácil control mediante la medicación. Si el paciente sufre de claustrofobia es probable que le incomode la permanencia al interior del túnel del resonador.
